The Paper Bag Making workshop was a fun, hands-on activity designed to promote creativity, environmental awareness, and sustainable living among students. The workshop aimed to teach participants how to make eco-friendly paper bags as an alternative to plastic, while also encouraging artistic expression and responsibility towards nature. The session began with a brief talk by the facilitators on the harmful effects of plastic on the environment and the importance of switching to reusable and biodegradable alternatives like paper bags. This helped students understand the larger purpose behind the activity. Participants were then provided with materials such as newspapers, craft paper, glue, scissors, rulers, and decorative items. Step-by-step instructions were given to guide them through folding, cutting, and sticking the paper to create strong and usable bags. The facilitators also demonstrated different styles and sizes of paper bags that could be made for various purposes. Once the basic bags were created, students were encouraged to decorate them with drawings, stickers, stamps, or messages promoting eco-friendliness. The creative energy in the room was lively, as students proudly personalized their bags with bright colours and meaningful designs. The workshop also included a discussion on how students can use these bags in daily life—like for shopping, gifting, or carrying lunch—and even teach others to make them at home. By the end of the session, each student had made at least one beautiful, handmade paper bag and gained a deeper appreciation for sustainability. Overall, the Paper Bag Making workshop was an engaging and educational experience that blended creativity with environmental responsibility.
