Outside MBA Chaiwala in Lake Town, eight AquaTerra volunteers set up a simple exchange: an affirmation note and a toffee for anyone willing to pause for a moment. What started as a quiet gesture soon turned into a steady stream of smiles from people who hadn't expected anything more than their usual cup of tea.
A hundred notes and toffees later, the drive wrapped up having done exactly what it set out to do, reminding a few strangers that someone out there was rooting for them.
