Eight AquaTerra volunteers came together this September to sort and hand over 1000 kilograms of clothes to Goonj in Kolkata. Getting that volume ready meant hours of sorting, folding, and segregating before a single item was ready to donate.
It was less glamorous than a typical workshop, but no less important, the kind of quiet, methodical work that makes a donation drive actually deliver. Volunteers worked in shifts to get through the sheer volume involved.
By the end of the day, a thousand kilos of clothing was on its way to people who needed it, thanks to Goonj's redistribution network.
