Four AquaTerra volunteers brought stories to life at Lamp Open Shelter this September, gathering 25 children for an afternoon of Once Upon. What began as a simple read-aloud quickly turned into something more, with kids jumping in to guess endings, act out characters, and add their own twists to the tale.
Storytelling has a way of pulling even the shyest child forward, and this session was no exception. By the end, the room was full of raised hands and eager voices wanting to tell their own stories.
It was a quiet but meaningful reminder that sometimes the simplest tools, a story and a circle of listeners, leave the deepest impression.
