Three AquaTerra volunteers headed to Avani Oxford this July for the forty-first Tails and Treats drive, handing out biscuits to 50 stray dogs across the neighbourhood. The regulars seemed to recognise the routine, trotting over as soon as the volunteers arrived.
It's a small act repeated often, but one that adds up, a bit of food and a bit of attention for animals that otherwise go unnoticed. The dogs got their fill, and the volunteers got a few wagging tails in return.
Another round done, another stretch of the city looked after.
