One AquaTerra volunteer ran the eighth Book Basket collection drive at Natural City in Laketown this June, going door to door to gather books for underprivileged children. Even a modest haul of two kilos means real books reaching kids who might not otherwise have them.
Residents were generally quick to pitch in once they understood where the books were headed, digging out titles their own children had outgrown. It's a slow, steady kind of drive, built one household at a time.
Every collection adds to the same growing shelf of stories waiting for their next reader.
