Four AquaTerra volunteers set up along Sarat Bose Road this March for the twenty-first round of Sharbat Seva, pouring out 20 litres of Rooh Afza to anyone passing through in the heat. Rickshaw pullers, shopkeepers, and pedestrians alike stopped for a cool glass and a brief moment of relief.
The drive has become something of a routine now, but each round still carries the same simple purpose, offering a small comfort to people working through the day's heat.
By the time the last glass was poured, the volunteers had covered a good stretch of the road and a lot of grateful smiles.
