Five AquaTerra volunteers brought Pebble Pop to Pather Sathi this March, handing out smooth stones and paint for 30 children to turn into tiny works of art. Ladybugs, faces, and abstract patterns soon covered the table as the kids got into a rhythm.
There was something satisfying about painting on a surface other than paper, and the novelty kept the children engaged well past the usual attention span. Volunteers moved around swapping colours and offering ideas when kids got stuck.
Everyone left with a handful of painted pebbles, small souvenirs from an afternoon of shared creativity.
