Three AquaTerra volunteers ran Tale Time at School On Wheels Belgachia this March, guiding 30 children through building their own stories from simple prompts. What began as a few hesitant sentences quickly grew into full, imaginative tales as the kids warmed up.
Volunteers nudged the storytelling along with questions rather than answers, letting each child's imagination lead the direction. Some stories turned silly, others surprisingly thoughtful, but all of them were entirely the children's own.
By the end, 30 kids at Belgachia had each told a story worth being proud of, and a little more confidence in their own voice.
