Five volunteers set up near Bhagya Lakshmi in late May for the ninth Sharbat Seva drive, serving cold, floral-scented Rooh Afza to a steady stream of visitors. The heat made the offer an easy sell, and the queue rarely thinned out.
By the time the drive wrapped, the team had poured 20 litres of sharbat for the neighbourhood. It's a small ritual by now, one that locals seem to look forward to each time the volunteers show up.
