This April, four AquaTerra volunteers ran Speak Smart at Disha Foundation, using games and roleplay to help 35 children get more comfortable speaking in front of others. For many kids, just standing up to say a few sentences was the biggest hurdle of the day.
Volunteers kept the pressure low, framing every attempt as a win rather than a performance to get right. That approach coaxed even the quietest children into taking a turn by the end.
It was a small session with an outsized impact, giving children a bit more confidence in their own voice.
