This October, four AquaTerra volunteers partnered with Sujata Child NGO for a Durga Puja workshop that mixed mythology, art, and conversation. Thirty children heard the stories behind the festival before picking up crayons to draw idols and decorate their own thalis.
The real heart of the session came in the discussions that followed, where volunteers and children talked about courage and compassion, the values the festival is meant to celebrate. It gave the day a depth beyond just craft-making.
By the time the workshop wrapped, the room was full of finished artwork and a shared sense of what the festival stands for.
