I’ve grown up in a world that’s louder, faster, and more connected than ever before. Yet,
somehow, it still clings to old systems that silence half the population. We talk about equality like
it’s some distant dream, but for me and so many others, feminism isn’t a dream—it’s a demand.
I see it everywhere—girls told to “cover up” while boys are taught nothing about respect. I’ve
heard “you’re too emotional” said to girls standing up for themselves and “man up” said to boys
crying in pain. That’s not just unfair—it’s dangerous. We’ve built a society on rules written
without us in the room. It’s time we burn that script and write a new one.
Feminism isn’t about making women better than men. It’s about recognising that no one should
be less because of who they are. It’s about fighting for the girl who drops out of school because
her period is taboo. For the woman paid less for the same job. For the trans girl scared to walk
down the street. It’s about all of us, because when we uplift one, we uplift all.
And to those who say “you’re too young to understand,” I say this: look around. It’s young
people who are leading movements, creating change, and refusing to accept the status quo. We
see the cracks in the system and we’re not afraid to shine a light on them.
I’m not waiting until I’m older to speak up. I’m doing it now. Because if not us, who? And if not
now, when?
Feminism is not a trend. It’s not a phase. It’s a revolution. And we are the generation that will
finish what others started.
We are not asking for change. We are becoming it
