The Last Walk

By Hiya Khara · 3 October 2026

The last walk down the musty corridor. The last whiff of stale canteen bread. The last glance at those old-fashioned bathrooms and the high ceilings that once felt endless. Today marks my final day here — in a place I've called home for over a decade. A place where I've grown, stumbled, laughed, and learned. Where I've shared countless memories, shed countless tears, and cracked myriad jokes.

Teachers — kind, patient, strict, or somewhere in between — I've learned something from each of them. The sports practices, the march-past chants, the competitions, and the endless fight for glory all hold a special place in my heart.

But it's not just the bright moments I'll remember. It's also the quiet ones — the whispered secrets in corridors, the shared smiles after tough days, the lessons hidden in mistakes. Every experience, every moment, has shaped who I am today, preparing me for what comes next. The last walk — waving goodbye to juniors, teachers, helpers, and all the faces that have been part of my story.

A huge change, yes. Uncertain — definitely.

But this last walk has reminded me of how far I've come. It's shown me that I'm ready, ready to carry forward everything this place has given me: the knowledge, the values, the memories, and the strength to begin again.
